After six years of living in their quaint 1200 square foot bungalow in charming River Heights, their home was rapidly getting too small for their growing family.

"We love the area," say the owners. "It's a hop, skip, and a jump away from the school, we are minutes away from the Safeway, and River Heights is so central. We are close to all the amenities - moving was not an option we wanted to consider."

The idea: Rather than moving the house outwards and losing precious backyard space, why not build up? Is it possible to transform the empty space in the attic into a master bedroom with an ensuite?
